evoked potential). Testing usually takes less than 2 hours, and a report is
mailed to the referring doctor within 24 hours. Retinal or pediatric
consultation can be arranged to coincide with the electrophysiologic
testing. Such a consultation will be performed only when requested by the
referring doctor.

Ocular angiography. Fluorescein angiography is a diagnostic procedure which uses a special camera to take a series of photographs of the retina, the light senstitive
tissue in the back of the eye. A special water-soluble dye (fluorescein) is
injected into a vein in the arm. The dye travels through the veins and into
the arteries which circulate the blood throughout the body. This procedure
is often cofused with an X-ray angiogram where an iodine dye is injected
into a vessel. As the dye passes through the blood vessels of the retina, a special camera
flashes a blue light into the eye and takes multiple photographs of the
retina. If the blood vessels are abnormal, the dye may leak into the retina
or stain the blood vessels. Damage to the lining underneath the retina or
the appearance of abnormal new blood vessels growing beneath the retina may
also be revealed. The precise location of these abnormalities can be
determined by a careful interpretation of the fluorescein angiogram by your
ophthalmologist.
If after examining your eyes, your ophthalmologist suspects that
abnormalities may exist in the back of the eye, he or she may recommend
fluorescein angiography. It is often done to follow the course of disease
and to monitor treatment results.
Digital, standard fluorescein angiography, and indocyanine green (ICG) angiography can be made every day. Call this number if you want an appointment: +39-50-592595.
Laser. Our eye center has two different instruments for anterior or posterior segment laser treatment. To have an appointment please call this phone number: +39-50-592595.

perform basic and clinical research, and teach medical students, residents,
and different specialists.
Patients referred to Day-Hospital of our Eye Center receive a
complete evaluation, including testing of visual acuity, color vision
testing, evaluation of the eye movements and ocular alignment, and visual
field testing using kinetic perimetry, static perimetry, or both. Selected
patients may also undergo a variety of other diagnostic tests, including
echography, CT scanning, and Mr imaging. Upon completion of the evaluation,
recommendations for further testing, therapy, or both are given to the
