The Apuan
Industrial Zone Consortium is a public subject founded by a specific Italian State Law
in 1947 and recognized by art. 36 of Law no. 317 in 1991 as a Public Economic Corporation.
Its institutive Law attributes to the A.I.Z. Consortium a direct
competence on a specific area of about 822 hectares, the so-called Apuan Industrial
Zone, situated across the cities of Massa and Carrara, and more generally on all
industrial zones of the associated counties in Lunigiana and Versilia.
According to national and regional Laws, and to its own Statute, the A.I.Z. Consortium
carries out a double function:
The A.I.Z. Consortium, in
accordance to its statutory aims and the Laws that regulate it, has recently added to its
purposes the diffusion of telematic culture among people, enterprises and corporations
situated in the Apuan area.
Therefore, it has realized a telematic infrastructure called "Apuan Telematic Net", in cooperation with
several public and private subjects of Tuscany, in order to provide access to its services
and to the Internet at the best possible conditions according to available technologies. |
